WORKS ON PAPER
The collages and dozens of others are constructed from the remnants of paintings trimmed off during mounting and from discarded paintings. They range in size from approximately 8x10 to 36x50 inches. Some are very abstracted landscapes while others are completely nonrepresentational.
The montages are studies of space and figurative scale in architecture. Creating them through a collage process allows both predictable and unexpected groupings. Using mannequins for scale rather than photographs of people helps human editorial content slip away and be replaced by a provocative strangeness with its own meaning.
